I love encouraging naturally curly-haired ladies to embrace their curls and quit straightening their hair. A huge part of being able to rock your curls with confidence is to have a skilled naturally curly hair stylist to coach you through the process. You can look up do’s and don’ts for curly hair online but there’s nothing like walking into a salon and working with someone who understands your hair and what it takes to make them the best they can be.
I know just about every curly girl has a haircut horror story and I want to help you prevent that. The below Orlando curly hair stylists come highly recommended by my circle of friends, so check them out and join me on #teamcurly! And stay tuned because I plan to keep this list current.
Faith in Curls
Curly hair specialist Jarely Nunez is located just outside of Orlando in Lake Mary. She specializes in curl-by-curl cuts for 2b-4b curl types. What’s especially unique about Jarely is that she only styles curls naturally and will not straighten hair. She also rocks a mean pineapple (I’ll get it right one day lol). Many of the transformations she has done are jaw-dropping.
Ultimately, her work speaks for itself. Check out her Instagram @faithincurls and book your appointment here. She books up pretty quickly but will post on her IG story if she gets cancellations/additional openings.
I haven’t met Arlene but I know she is passionate about her work. How? A few years ago, she stopped my friend Christina at a gas station and told her she wanted to cut her curly hair. She co-owns Salon Ciseaux in Winter Park where they are certified in both DevaCurl and Ouidad cuts. Several stylists specialize in curly cuts too!
Ulta Waterford Lakes
Nina is a DevaCurl certified stylist located at the Ulta in Waterford Lakes in East Orlando. From what I gather from friends and from her Instagram @ninastylistmua, Nina focuses primarily on curly styles and also does men’s cuts. You can book your appointments with Nina by calling (407) 384-8488.
