If you’re curly headed like me, you know the struggle of finding a stylist who loves styling curls. To our disadvantage, most stylists love to straighten and process hair. It’s their craft. Society doesn’t necessarily help either by suggesting you need “sleek” hair to look “polished.” It’s so important to have a stylist who not only knows how to style your hair type but who also encourages you to properly care for it.
In other words, just hit up Faith in Curls. Jarely is truly passionate about helping people celebrate their naturally curly hair. Curl by curl, she transforms your mane from lame to … something that rhymes with that and means amazing.
Check my before and after:
I love my haircut! My curls are way more defined and voluminous. Jarely doesn’t just cut your hair. First, you have a consultation during which she asks you questions, including how you prefer to wear your hair and whether you like volume or not. Then she goes into the cut.
From my time with Jarely, I learned a few things:
Jarely cuts your hair while dry, while your curls are in their natural state.
Curly haircuts are NOT transferable. Most people have multiple curl patterns, some tighter than others, so if you try straightening your hair, it won’t look too hot.
You have to commit to your curls. If you’re still “blow-frying” your hair, you’re damaging your curls and you’ll never be happy with your texture.
For best results, you should apply styling products while your hair is soaking wet. It’s when your curls will best absorb the products.
You only need a curly haircut once or twice a year!
